WOULD THIS EMBARASS YOU?

What I am about to share is embarassing but it happens regularly I am sure if you are taking care of a parent of another gender.

My mother was a very vain woman who wore a lot of makeup and had very specific taste in clothing.. a bit unusual but very specific.

She drove for many years before I was born but had an accident and stopped driving. For my entire childhood and adult life she did not drive.

Her mode of transportation was either the bus, a taxi or my dad. Once I started driving I also became her major mode of getting around.

As she got older and dad passed away she became more of a hermit and stayed home all the time except for her biweekly hair dresser appt I had to take her to and of course any doctor appointments.

She had bright orange /red hair and wore a ton of make up..

I would regularly go to the drug store and buy:

Revlon Apricot Blase lipstick
Eyeliner
Oil of Olay
Make up Remover
Panties and bra’s
Depends
Hemeroid Medication
Prune Juice

I did her weekly grocery shopping and bill paying as well…

I would always get a funny look from the checkout person who wondered if this stuff was for me or someone else
They never asked but you could tell by that curious stare that a 40 year old man with a mustache was buying all sorts of ladie’s personal products..

At first it was a bit embarassing but after a while I actually enjoyed watching the cashiers’ looks and am sure they were talking SHT once I left
